French e-Sales up 29%, according to the EMOTA. E-commerce in France experienced a spectacular growth rate of 29% during the first half of 2010 compared to the same period last year. According to FEVAD (Fédération du E-commerce et de la Vente à Distance) the sales where valued at €7.2 billion (or $10 billion). The growth was not just because of more than 16.000 online retailers, but allso the value of the shopping basket grew to €93 (or $129).
Some of the biggest French online retail companies include eBay, PriceMinister (Affiliate program at Zanox) and La Redoute (Affiliate program at Zanox). Japan’s online mall giant Rakuten acquired French PriceMinister for about 200 million euros this year.
